Barrie kitchens that need this are usually one of two kinds. Refacing followed by cabinet painting is the way to get a shaker kitchen out of a cathedral-arch oak kitchen without demolition. New MDF or maple shaker doors take paint cleanly, need no grain fill, and cost far less than new boxes.
Ontario market figures place refacing near $3,000 to $10,000 for an average kitchen, compared with $2,500 to $5,500 for most whole-kitchen cabinet painting and $15,000 to $40,000 and up for replacement. Where a reface lands within that band depends on door count, door style and whether drawer boxes get replaced too. Those are market figures, and your price is the written quote.
Refacing only suits boxes worth keeping. Particleboard swollen under the sink, a box pulled away from the wall, or a face frame split at the hinge screws will hold new doors no better than the old ones.
